HERO 9 Black - Product Management

As the lead product manager of next-gen products, the first of my products at GoPro - Hero9Black recently launched in Q4 2020. Under my leadership, the Hero9Black had an interactive front screen along with the firmware necessary to support the dual-screen usage and additional advanced functionality. The key improvements in the new camera are:

• Up to 30% faster wireless offload speeds for faster transfers to the GoPro app.

• Improved HyperSmooth 3.0 performance in cold temperatures.

• A slo-mo shortcut slider button.

• Improved GPS lock accuracy.

• Support for live streaming with the Max Lens Mod, bringing HyperSmooth video stabilization, ultra-wide 155° Max SuperView perspective and powerful in-camera horizon lock to live streaming.

• Pro 3.5mm Mic Adapter support for those seeking an elevated audio input option outside of using the Media Mod for HERO9 Black.

Managing the Hero9Black included bi-weekly meetings with the CEO and the leadership team to inform them of the progress, technology and marketing leadership, detailed product and competition testing, discussions with technology partners to ensure we are aligned on product development.
